Alexandra Haverstick has been a long time dancer, assistant and teacher at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance. Her dance training began at age 6, when she joined her team at the IDO World Championships in Florida that same year. Since then, Alexandra has pursued training in all styles and returned to the IDO World Championships in 2007 (New York City) and 2009 (Niagara Falls). There, she won the gold medal title in the Junior Ballet Duet category, in addition to many gold and silver medals for group routines. Alexandra continued her ballet training and completed all of her ISTD ballet exams, culminating in the Advanced 1 exam. Through her 18 years of dance training, Alexandra has attended many competitions and conventions at both the local and national level across North America; these include Triple Threat, Jump, Nuvo, The Dance Awards, Radix and the PulseOnTour. At these competitions she has won many titles such as the prestigious Pulse Protégé, Dance Awards Best Dancer Finalist, Jump VIP Winner and Nuvo Breakout Artist Winner. Alexandra was a founding member of the Pre Professional Company from 2010-2013. She performed with the company at multiple events, including Carnival: The Choreographer’s Ball in Los Angeles. When the Pre Professional Program restarted in 2016, Alexandra returned as an Artistic member and has remained as such since. Alexandra also enjoys sharing her love of dance through choreography and has worked as the Assistant Choreographer on Hallmark’s: The Christmas Club and at the Opening Ceremonies of the Human Rights Museum. She is excited to continue to share her love of dance with her students at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance.
