Rachael McLaren, born and raised in Winnipeg, started her artistic journey on the piano at age 3. She began her formal dance training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and continued
her training at the Ailey School in New York under the direction of the late Denise Jefferson. Her theatre credits include Mamma Mia! Toronto Ensemble/Understudy ‘Ali’ (Royal Alexandra Theatre/Mirvish Productions) and several children’s theatre productions with KOBA entertainment. Her guest work includes NYC based dance companies Armitage Gone! Dance, the Nilas Martins dance company, the Francesca Harper Project and The Royal Ballet in London for Wayne McGregor’s 10th anniversary season(Royal Opera House/Kevin O’Hare). She was a member of Ailey II, and a principal dancer of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for 11 years, traveling, performing, and teaching dance in over 20 countries. Back in Winnipeg, Rachael is enjoying raising her two young daughters while teaching dance, fitness, mindfulness meditation as well as acting and stunt performing in various film and television productions.
