Madeline Garcia
Instructor
Madeline is very excited to join the Shelley Shearer Dance family this year! Her love for dance began at the age of 3, and since then she has trained in numerous disciplines including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, bollywood, and musical theater. As a competitive dancer at Kickit Dance Studio, she has been recognized through special awards and overalls at a number of competitions including World of Dance, Artists Emerge, Release Dance Competition, Canadian National Dance Championships, The View Dance Challenge, Candance, Fever Dance Championships, Dance Canada, Manitoba Dance Festival, and more.
Madeline's passion for dance has led her to many opportunities, including performing in local commercials, dancing in music videos, being in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2017 Canada Games performances, and being a backup dancer for the Mini Pop Kids. Madeline is a member of SIKAT dance company training in hip-hop, and was a part of the Winnipeg based pre-professional Tap Dance company, Language of Rhythm, for several years.
Outside of Shelley Shearer, Madeline studies Kinesiology at the University of Manitoba, and instructs Lagree at The Fitual! You may also find her working at the Children’s Rehabilitation Center, or dressed up as your favourite Disney princesses at events around the city. Madeline is thrilled to share her love and knowledge of dance with her students, and can't wait to see what this year brings.
